Uniforms & Equipment

The uniform for the Academy will be as follows:

  1. Shirt - black polo shirt with the PJC LEA logo on left breast and last name on right breast
    1. One (1) shirt will be provided. Additional shirts may be purchased at XXX located at XXX for XXX
  2. Pants – coyote brown tactical style pants (5.11, Tru-Spec, Propper, etc.)
  3. Black polishable boots with smoot toe (no pointed toes, tennis shoes, slip-on low quarter shoes)
  4. Black athletic shorts or sweatpants for PT
  5. Gray PJC LEA t-shirt for PT
    1. One (1) shirt will be provided. Additional shirts may be purchased at XXX located at XXX for XXX
  6. Athletic shoes for PT
  7. Black socks
  8. Plain black baseball cap (optional for outdoor training)

 

Equipment (provided by agency or cadet) – Sponsoring law enforcement agencies my utilize standard issued gear and equipment.

  1. Glock 17/22 pistol with three (3) magazines
  2. Blue training Glock 17/22
  3. Black police style duty belt & inner belt
  4. Black Level II or higher holster for Glock 17/22
  5. Black double magazine pouch for Glock 17/22
  6. Black duty belt keepers
  7. Black handcuff case
  8. Hearing & eye protection for gun range
  9. Flashlight – does not have to be expensive. Recommended to have tail cap activation
  10. 3 AR-15/M4 platform rifle magazines
  11. Firearms cleaning kit & supplies for 9mm pistol, .223/5.56 rifle, 12ga shotgun

 

Ammunition (provided by agency or cadet)

  1. 650 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition (no steel, reloaded or hollow point ammo)
    1. 500 for firearms & 150 for patrol rifle course
  2. 500 rounds of .223/5.56 rifle ammunition
  3. 15 rounds of shotgun ammo – 00 buck
  4. 10 rounds of shotgun ammo – slugs
  5. 50 rounds of shotgun ammo – field/bird shot

 

Classroom supplies / other equipment

  1. Most current version of the “Texas Criminal and Traffic Law Manual” available from Blue360 media
  2. One (1) 4-inch 3-ring binder
  3. Pens/pencils for note taking
  4. Note taking supplies as desired
  5. Note cards, approx. 30 per week
  6. Black physical fitness mat for use during PT (approx. 6ft x 2ft)
